School16’s Digital Marketing Concentration is an intensive, 8-week course featuring 90-120 minute sessions with expert Digital Marketers at companies like Facebook, Google, Uber, and more.
Session 1: Identifying your customer and creating customer profiles (B2B, B2C), personas, and journeys
Session 2: The essentials of messaging, brand positioning, building trust with your audience, copywriting, and ad copy creation
Session 3: Email marketing best practices, campaign set up, and tool overview (Mailchimp, etc.)
Session 4: Writing a high-converting landing page
Session 5: How different marketing channels define lead quality
Session 6: Learn SEO & PPC best practices—including using fundamental SEO tools and completing effective keyword research
Session 7: Introduction to social media marketing
Session 8: Product marketing basics and best practices
Session 9: Building a marketing funnel
Session 10: Creating a flywheel
Session 11-12: The data behind marketing math—including how much to invest, CAC vs. LTV, and Google Analytics

Yes. This course is part-time and intended for working professionals or students. The classes are held virtually, on Zoom, in the evenings twice a week. You can complete homework assignments at any time during the week. Many of our students also expense the program as professional development training through their employer. We designed this course for students who have some demonstrated interest and/or experience in the tech sector. If you have no experience in tech, completion of our Technology Career Acceleration Program is a prerequisite to qualify for this program. This course is a great fit for anyone who has experience in sales, operations, marketing, or customer support in tech and wants to transition into a marketing role. Founders and former entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply.
School16 offers flexible payment options and opportunities to learn risk-free. The full tuition for the Advanced Concentration: Digital Marketing course is $3500. All students are automatically considered for need-based scholarships and can choose to repay their tuition in monthly installments. Yes, successful completion of this program will earn students a certificate of completion for the Advanced Learning Concentration: Digital Marketing course.
We recommend students take the introductory 8-week Technology Career Acceleration Program before taking a concentration in a particular field. However, students can place directly into an Advanced Learning Concentration course depending on their background and experience. We will evaluate placement during our admissions process.
Yes, School16 alumni will receive special offers to enroll in Advanced Concentration courses.
Yes, we designed School16's education to fit each student's respective career and professional development goals. Students that successfully complete any of our course offerings are eligible to enroll in as many additional courses as required to complete their education.
Many of our students start receiving job interviews and offers after graduating from our foundational 8-week program. However, certain highly competitive tech roles may require additional training to land a role (depending on the individual's experience).
Students who complete our Advanced Concentration: Digital Marketing course will typically pursue the following roles: Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Marketing Associate, Marketing Coordinator, Social Media Manager, Marketing Analyst, Growth Marketing Manager, Paid Search Manager, Marketing Specialist, and Content Marketing Specialist. This list is not exhaustive. Other roles may also be a fit for students that complete this course (depending on their experience).
The classes meet twice a week for 90-120 minute sessions. Students will also receive assignments to complete during the rest of the week, including readings, solo work, and group projects.
Students who have successfully completed the School16 Tech Career Accelerator program are immediately eligible to join the Advanced Concentration: Digital Marketing course. For those who have not completed this program, you may still be able to place into the advanced course if you have some marketing experience (even if outside of tech). Other students will be admitted on a case-by-case basis based on their experience and goals. We recommend that prospective students who need additional support consider the Tech Career Accelerator Program in addition to the Advanced Concentration: Digital Marketing course and complete them both.
In general, we recommend students successfully complete our Tech Career Acceleration Program before any concentration. However, students with 1-2 years of experience working in a marketing or marketing adjacent function may be eligible to join the concentration outright. Students at varying places in their careers will find the Advanced Concentration: Digital Marketing course useful—including students currently enrolled in college or university with some tech experience (including internships) and/or some marketing experience; or those that have taken the School16 Tech Career Accelerator Program. Those already working, at any stage of their career, may also be a good fit for the program. Our admissions counselors will guide applicants towards the right program fit based on their goals, whether that is the Advanced Concentration: Digital Marketing, another concentration, or our Tech Career Accelerator Program.
School16 students come from various industries and levels of experience. Our students have come from tech, education, nonprofits, government, even musical theater. Some are currently enrolled in college, early in their career, mid-level, or have even led successful and long careers in their respective field. The School16 Advanced Concentration: Digital Marketing course comes with over 24 hours of live class time, 1:1 and small group career mentorship including assistance in finding the right Marketing roles, applying, and interviewing for those roles, in addition to ongoing access to the School16 network. Students also have lifetime access to all educational materials and exclusive alumni-only events.
Digital marketers that are successfully able to drive brand awareness and revenue growth are in high demand across both consumer and enterprise technology companies. If you're interested in (and have the aptitude for) learning new marketing tools and executing both paid and organic marketing campaigns across a variety of channels, you would be a great fit for this role. Those with copywriting and social media experience are especially well-positioned for a successful career as a marketer, but anyone with the ability to quickly understand the needs of a brand and how to drive consumer interest would be highly attractive for this role.
